Why Is The Atlanta Fulton County Public Library Blocking Search Engine Websites On Free WiFi?

by C. Henry Adams

For months and I mean for months, the Atlanta-Fulton County Public Library System has been blocking Wifi Access to certain web sites such as Google.

You can call me a Nerd, if you are so bold to approach me in the wrong manner or not.  I'm stating a fact.

A Matter of  Fact, I'm writing this blog while seated in the Central Library located at
One Margaret Mitchell Square, Atlanta, GA 30303.  How?  I'm utilizing my own personal Hotspot!

This is ridiculous!   I should be able to come to the library in Atlanta or Fulton County to use their Internet Free of Charge as a Tax Paying Citizen and not to be restricted from Internet Search Engines such as Google or Yahoo!

Yes, I'm screaming!  In a silent way of course, while seated in the Library.

Well, you read my thoughts, what might say you?  Thanks!  Oh yes, please share this blog with the Good Folks on the Board for the Atlanta Fulton County Public Library, they need to hear this...

Thanks for reading my commentary.

Understanding The Rational
Board Of Governors Decision - FRB

by C. Henry Adams

On Wednesday, December 16th 2015, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, better known as, the Federal Reserve Bank ("FRB") raise the interest rate in the United States Banking System.

Since the US Dollar is one of the four major currency (U.S. dollar, euro, Japanese yen, and pound sterling) on Earth; up until the Chinese Renminbi (RMB) becomes the fifth currency, effective October 1, 2016 .   The FRB decision will likely have an effect in the World Market.

Basically, this means the Governors of the Federal Reserve System saw the following things in the USA:

1) People and Business(es) appear to be spending money in recent months.
2) People appear to be renting, leasing or buying homes.
3) People appear to be getting employed in recent months.
4) Energy prices, such as gasoline to drive vehicles appear in decline.
5) Measurements regarding the US Market are down.

I can hear someone say, " C. Henry, how do you know that to be true?"  My Reply:  I read it in the 'News Release'  here:  http://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents/press/monetary/20151216a.htm

Nevertheless, to follow the Governors of the Federal Reserve System's double or dual mandate (objectives).  They decided to help increase employment and keep prices stable in the US Marketplace.

They anticipate that inflation will rise about 2 percent as energy cost decline.  Perhaps this will cause employment to increase.

Basically,  the Governors of the Federal Reserve System monitors the economy closely and made a judgement on their findings. Plus, they have set a goal for inflation and will act upon it accordingly.

Perhaps owning US Treasury Bonds are a good thing these days; those are my thoughts.

So, what say you?  Thanks for reading, I greatly appreciate you.

Dedicated to William & Phyillis Young
Memories Around Christmas Time

by C. Henry Adams

As long as I could remember growing up in the 1970's and it seem just about every Christmas Eve before they had children of their own, William and Phyillis Young often visited Phyillis' cousins - the Adams who lived in the community of Collier Heights - Atlanta, Georgia.

As a child reared in Christian beliefs, Jesus Christ was and is always the reason for this Wonderful Season.

But, Santa Claus coming down the chimney, that we never used... when I was a child - and misbehaving; were things I took very seriously.

One Reason; I did not want to get a butt whooping.

Another Reason; I did not want Santa Claus to leave me a Lump of Coal.

Well, guess what?  Little did I realize or know, Santa Claus' Helpers were always on time on Christmas Eve and their names were William and Phyillis Young.

These two Beautiful People: one who later retired from Georgia State University - William Young and the other who became a Million Dollar Real Estate Agent  - Phyillis Young; had 'Hearts of Gold' (meaning, they were Caring / Sharing People).

William and Phyillis were always, in my professional opinion, Loving and Giving Individuals.  God truly blessed them with two Wonderful Children ( James & Tammy ), a Beautiful Daughter-in-Law ( Alison) and  four Grandchildren.

One Saturday morning, on December 12th 2015, I believe Phyllis, my Mother & Father, as well as, a Host of Family, Friends, Acquaintance, Angels and Archangels - came beside William's bed to say, " William, get up out of that bed and come with Us."  Then, God said, "Well done, my Good and Faithful Servant, let's go Home."   And of course, off he went...

Please don't fret and don't be sad, because this is not a bitter story.  For I believe,  these two Beautiful People are together again watching over their Family, Friends and Love Ones who are still on Earth.

Thank you William & Phyillis for enriching all of our lives and we know that, perhaps, you are gone from the body,  but spiritually you will be with Us forever more.

We Love You.  This is dedicated to your wonderful memories, we all uniquely have about you, all 'round Christmas time.

Thoughts On Atlanta's Economy Relating To Football

by C. Henry Adams

I must admit that I'm a NFL Fan for the Atlanta Falcons. For 45 years, going on 46 years, I've only known one Team whether they win or lose to support.

I must admit that I'm not happy with the Atlanta Falcons performance this year (2015) as of Sunday, December 13th 2015, the 51st week of 2015.

Disclosure:  I am not a Professional American Football Commentator.  But, what I am is a Professional Business Man going on nearly 18 years of experience.

Atlanta, Georgia or should I say the Metropolitan Area of Atlanta, Georgia has been my home for over 40 years.

The National Football League ( "NFL")'s Franchise called the Atlanta Falcons to which is currently owned by Arthur Blank, a Great Georgian and a Great American to say the very least, has been a " Let Down " (Disappointment).

From a Business Prospective, I expected the Atlanta Falcons to boost the Economy in Atlanta, surrounding Counties, and States.

Simple Question:  How can the Atlanta Falcons be a boost in the Economy when its Team is constantly on the losing end?   Today, they possess 6 wins and 7 loses, whereas, the Carolina Panthers beat the Atlanta Falcons by 38 points to Zero.

Today, the Atlanta Falcons and others are building a Stadium in the shadows of the Georgia Dome.

A number of people I've personally spoken to wonders why.  Perhaps, it is being developed to boost the City of Atlanta's Economy regarding Football and Soccer to say the very least.

If this is the case, should the Atlanta Falcons continue to make adjustments on their Team to make this a reality?  I would sincerely hope so...

Yes, I have my thoughts about who they should remove from a Key Position on the football field, but I rather hear your thoughts instead.   Thanks for reading my blog, I greatly appreciate you...

Invest In Southwest Atlanta

by C. Henry Adams

Technically, I grew up on the West-side of Atlanta, Georgia, whereas, a particular street sign might say the Street Name (No actual name given.) with the initials of NW ( "Northwest" ), but if you go roughly (1) one mile from my Ole Neighborhood; a street sign might say the Street Name (No actual name given.) with the initials of SW ( "Southwest" ).

Nevertheless, in my professional opinion, Southwest Atlanta needs Economic Improvements to stay up with the times.

I applaud Atlanta City Council Lady, Keisha Lance Bottoms of District 11 and her Administration for taking the time to at least issue a survey .

There are a Number of Concerns that need to be address to improve the Economic Outlook of Southwest Atlanta.  Below is a short list:

1)  A Need for Regular (meaning Weekly) Clean Up / Removal of Trash from Streets, Neighborhoods, Parks, Wooded areas, Wetlands (Utoy Creek Wetlands) and Streams (Utoy Creek).

2)  A Need to better educate / train the Local Youth regarding the historical significance of the area to hopefully give them a stronger sense of Value.

3) A Need to significantly reduce Crime and Criminal Acts in West Atlanta.

4) A Need to significantly reduce or end Poverty in this area by creating or placing a Surplus of Careers (' not just a job') through Small Business in Southwest Atlanta.

5) A Need to reduce the HIGH Cost of Living in Prices for Residents at the local Grocery Stores and local Gas Stations to name a few.

If I sat here long enough, I could write more concerns.  However, being concern and taking actions are two different things.  I prefer to be on the taking action side after voicing or hearing concerns spoken.

Those are my thoughts, now what say you?  Thanks for reading my commentary, I greatly appreciate you.
